Intangible Cultural Heritage in Hungary

Szerző: 2014. december 23.

It is getting more and more difficult these days for a community to preserve its cultural image and identity. That is why the wish to protect the cultural heritage has become increasingly relevant at numerous places. Nowadays even the so called “intangible cultural heritage” enjoys international
attention. The Skanzen has been handling the national tasks connected to the protection of
intangible cultural heritage. The goal is to collect and publish those parts of the cultural and intellectual heritage of communities that are known as the communal knowledge and tradition. In 2010 the “Carnival of the Buso”, the very famous carnival and “winter send-off” of Mohács, became part of the list of intangible cultural heritage of the humanity.
