A day of memories and caring for one another

27 September 2026, Sunday

9:00-17:00

Northern Hungary exhibition unit

Scents, flavours, old photographs, games and creative activities invite us to rediscover memories while learning more about how we can support older people and those living with dementia. The programme aims to challenge misconceptions, encourage social inclusion and strengthen dialogue between generations.

As part of World Alzheimer’s Month, Kortalanul – Ageless raises awareness of dementia and highlights the importance of prevention, early recognition and empathy.

Programmes

A Walk Down Memory Lane

11:00

Meeting point: Rest area in the Northern Hungary exhibition unit (Perkupa)

Guide: Márta Bokonics-Kramlik

Join us for a special walk where different senses and activities help us explore the many ways in which memories can be evoked.

Recognising herbs by scent and taste

Witch’s Brew

Familiar scents and flavours can bring back memories and emotions. Put your senses to the test and see how many herbs you can recognise!

“A single familiar scent can awaken a hundred forgotten memories.”

Memory game

House from Nemesradnót

Give your brain a playful workout! Memory games offer a simple and enjoyable way to exercise memory and concentration.

“A playful mental workout is a simple yet effective way to help keep the mind active.”

Rediscovering memories through old photographs

Nemesradnót farmstead and Imola stable

Old photographs can evoke stories, emotions and personal memories while providing a wonderful starting point for conversation.

“Photographs do more than recall the past – they build a bridge between our memories and the present.”

Make a forget-me-not badge

House from Filkeháza

Make your own forget-me-not badge. The forget-me-not is an international symbol of dementia awareness, reminding us of the importance of caring and remembering.

“Small movements made by hand can help exercise the brain too.”

Join us and let’s share an experience that goes beyond remembrance – it’s also about reaching out to one another!

We reserve the right to make changes to the program!
