Visiting with dog
VISITING THE MUSEUM WITH A DOG
Is it allowed to bring a dog into the museum?
The beautiful natural surroundings of the Open Air Museum, with its peace, tranquility, and spacious green areas, attract many dog owners with their pets. Our museum is happy to welcome them, as our goal is to offer a place where visitors can relax, finding not only meaningful experiences but also true rejuvenation after a busy week.
Does the museum have a park?
Yes, the museum consists not only of buildings but also large green areas surrounding them. The entire museum covers 75 hectares, offering many places for exploration, making a museum tour a real adventure for dogs. The museum is part of the Duna-Ipoly Nature Conservation Area, meaning it is a protected zone that requires special care. It is in our mutual interest to preserve the cleanliness of our environment, and we kindly ask dog owners to help us maintain this while visiting the outdoor exhibition with their pets.
What should we know if we arrive with a dog?
There are a few rules to follow to ensure everyone can enjoy their visit to the museum. That’s why we’ve put together a Dog Code for pet owners.
Entry for Dogs
Dogs can enter free of charge, and it is recommended that they enter with their owners through the main entrance.
Dog Equipment
Dogs are allowed on the museum grounds only if they are on a leash and wearing a muzzle, in accordance with dog care regulations. In response to frequent visitor questions: please remember that the dog's size and nature should not be a factor—let's respect the safety of other visitors!
Cleanliness First
Cleaning up after your dog is the owner’s responsibility (keep in mind the children!).
Dogs and the Exhibitions
Please do not make your dog part of the exhibition. Dogs are not allowed inside the buildings, but we hope the vast green spaces will make up for this inconvenience.
Other Animals
Please avoid approaching the animal farm with dogs, out of respect for the animals' peace.
Thank you for following the house rules, and we wish both dogs and their owners a pleasant visit!
