Due to renovation work, certain areas and buildings of the museum are temporarily closed to visitors.
Buildings Closed in the Museum
We are working to ensure that the Open-Air Ethnographic Museum continues to provide lasting experiences and valuable knowledge to all our visitors. To achieve this, renovation work is currently underway in several of our regions and buildings.
CURRENTLY CLOSED HOMESTEADS AND BUILDINGS:
- Region I: House from Erdőhorváti, Mikófalva barn, Perkupa dwelling house (the Witch’s Kitchen remains open), Karancskeszi dwelling house
- Region II: Gyöngyös artisan house
- Region III: Botpalád communal barn, Uszka yard sheepfold
- Region VI: Sükösd dwelling house, Farmstead
- Region VII: Fadd dwelling house, Őcsény hillside vineyard farmstead
- Region VIII: Nyirád dwelling house
- Region IX: Szentgyörgyvölgy dwelling house, Szalafő dwelling house, Cellars
- Region X: Bogyoszló dwelling house, Jánossomorja dwelling house (residential area is open), Harka dwelling house (candle dipping not available)
- Region XI: Csíkszentsimon homestead
In addition, the Transylvanian Freemasons exhibition is also closed, but upon request, our staff working in the print workshop will be happy to open it for visitors.
