SEASON OPENING IN 2025

The Skanzen will reopen this year with a walking ticket, so the museum will be accessible every weekend in March, even before the official opening of the high season.

Before the full opening in early April, visitors can explore the Szentendre Open-Air Ethnographic Museum with a walking ticket on the weekends in March. The houses in the Skanzen are not open yet, but visitors are free to walk and hike around the 75-hectare area that belongs to the Duna-Ipoly National Park. They can discover the hidden paths of the Skanzen and experience the special charm of the beautiful natural surroundings.

Skanzen

The museum welcomes families with two playgrounds, the Ornithological Trail, and the streamside. The museum area is accessible by bicycle and stroller, and the traffic-free walking paths provide an excellent opportunity for relaxation in the fresh air, especially for those with young children. The museum grounds are also open to four-legged companions. For those feeling hungry during their walk, the Skanzen Bakery offers sweet and savory pastries, along with fresh bread.

The museum is open from 09:00 to 16:00, and the walking ticket price is a flat rate of 1,200 HUF. Parking is free over the weekend, and bicycles and small carts can be rented for exploring the area.

The high season is from April 1st until October 31st. We are open Tuesday through Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum is CLOSED on Mondays. From the 1st of November, the museum is closed for the winter, except for the St Martin's Day New Wine and Goose Festival (8-9 of November).
